The Rx.com Mod Team has created this Service Play sub-forum in order to supply an area for Rx Service Play Posters to expand upon their posting topics without creating a logjam in the main forum where the three principle threads are maintained..

Posters can track services here if they care to but we will need any trackers to do so in an accurate and civil manner. We did not create this area for posters to ridicule or bash any services..

You can also discuss who is hot and who is not. The general state of the pay for plays industry and any other subject or topic related to service plays.

You can also create individual threads about specific services and discuss them freely but civilly. Again bashing and abusive treatment of any services will not be tolerated.

Please remember, this forum is not here for regular posters who cap their own games to post ther daily plays. Please use our individual sport forums to post your plays. Professional cappers (those that sell plays) must remain in the Site Promotion Forum.

The Rx.com will not tolerate posters that post false records of any services they track. Please be truthful if you decide to track a particular service.

Lastly The Rx Moderators are appealing to you our everyday posters to report any promotional threads or posts that are made by services or individual touts. No links or contact information to an individual service will be allowed. Just the name of the service. Please report any threads or posts that are promotional attempts by services and touts to use this forum to promote themselves..

Posters can easily report a promotional post by using the triangular Report-a-Post Icon at the bottom left of all post boxes. The poster name of any poster who reports a post that is out of line will be kept strictly confidential.

I will leave this thread open for a month to take questions and do my best to answer them. I will check in daily but am off on Wednesday and Thursday.

I hope this additional Service Play Forum will satisfy those posters that would like to widen the scope of topics relating to service plays and the industry in general to have their own threads. Mods will be liberal as possible regarding topics but this forum was specifically created to allow you more freedom to express your ideas regarding service plays and related subject matter. No off topic threads will be allowed.

Angels, Dodgers Do Battle In Los Angeles

Sunday brings a quality pitching matchup as the battle of Los Angeles comes to a close. The third and final game of the series between the Angels and Dodgers will begin at 1:10 p.m. (PT) at Dodger Stadium.

The opening line on the Don Best odds screen has the Dodgers and young starter Clayton Kershaw (7-3, 3.01 ERA) -110 with the total at six runs.

It is the starter on the other side that is looking for his 10th win of the year, though. Jered Weaver (9-4, 2.01 ERA) has not given up more than four runs in a game all season and both 4-run starts were in a row in May. His numbers are impressive all across the board.

Overall he has a WHIP of 0.92, his ERA is lower on the road than it is at home, and in his last three starts he is 2-0 with a 1.52 ERA. His last two outings saw him surrender just one earned run in 16 innings.

Add to that his two starts in day games where he is 2-0 giving up one earned run in 14 innings pitched.

Kershaw is, of course, no slouch either. He is coming off a start against the Detroit Tigers where he pitched a two-hit, complete game shutout. In his outing before that one, he gave up one run in seven innings. The 23-year-old lefty also has a nice day game record of 3-0 with the Dodgers winning all four of his starts during the daytime.

Also, he has been distinctively better at home than on the road. In Dodger Stadium he is 5-1 with a 2.10 ERA and a WHIP of 0.90.

Neither offense is really something to write home about. For the Dodgers, however, they do have Matt Kemp who is having a great season. Kemp entered play Saturday batting .331 with 21 homers, 60 RBIs and a slugging percentage of .629.

Both teams find themselves in the bottom-10 of the big leagues in runs scored.

The Angels are just a few games back in the AL West standings as opposed to the Dodgers who have some serious ground to make up in the NL West. Mike Scioscia’s club is just 4-10 in their last 14 games against left-handed starters, however. On the other side, the Dodgers are 4-10 in their last 14 interleague contests against right-handers.

Something else will also have to give as Kershaw trends to the ‘over’ and Weaver trends hard toward the ‘under.’

For the Halos, outfielder Torii Hunter is listed as day-to-day (ribs) and did miss the first game of this series.

Los Angeles should be sunny and clear, a great day for baseball on Sunday.

San Francisco Giants End Set With Indians On ESPN

San Francisco has played in front of sold-out crowds all season and that will continue when the Giants face the Cleveland Indians on ESPN’s Sunday Night Baseball. The first pitch is scheduled for 5:05 (PT) at AT&T Park.

The Giants improved their home record to 22-13 after coming away with a 4-3 victory in the series opener Friday night. The club entered the three-game set with a disappointing 9-13 record versus AL Central opponents in the Bay Area.

One thing is for certain in San Francisco games this year, it will definitely be a close game. Of the team's first 76 games, 62 were decided by three runs or fewer, more than any other team.

Left-hander Madison Bumgarner (3-9, 4.06 ERA) will be searching for his first victory of the season at AT&T Park, coming in with a winless 0-5 mark and 5.82 ERA in seven starts. Opponents have hit .353 against the southpaw on his home turf.

Bumgarner is coming off the worst start of his young career, giving up eight runs and nine hits in just a third of an inning, dropping a 9-2 home contest to the Twins.

San Francisco went into Saturday’s contest with a 20-7 interleague home record, but has dropped 11 of Bumgarner’s last 15 starts overall.

Cleveland may not be able to take advantage of tonight’s situation due to its 3-8 record versus the National League when facing a left-handed starter. The Tribe is also batting just .240 against southpaws for the season.

The Indians are lucky to possess a major weapon late in games, as the bullpen leads the American League with a 2.99 ERA. Over the last 11 games, the unit has surrendered just one earned run in 32 1/3 innings.

With Sunday’s scheduled starter Fausto Carmona (4-9, 5.98 ERA) set to make his 17th start of the season, the club’s relievers will likely play a major role in determining the winner in the series finale. Carmona has dropped six of his last seven outings, including a dismal effort at home versus Colorado giving up seven runs and nine hits over 4 2/3 frames. He also failed to register a single strikeout for the first time this season.

Since May 19, the right-hander is 1-6 with a 9.24 ERA. He has not faced the Giants in his career, but has faced first baseman Aubrey Huff and shortstop Miguel Tejada, as they are a combined 6-for-28 against him.

Home plate umpire Hunter Wendelstedt is likely to factor into a bettor’s decision on this particular contest. The Indians are winless in Carmona’s two starts with him behind the dish, while the Giants picked up a 13-0 blowout victory in Bumgarner’s lone outing in his zone.

Weather forecasts suggest game-time highs in the low-60s and a westerly wind of 10-15 mph (out to center). The ‘under’ is 11-3 at AT&T Park when playing in that particular wind direction.

Sunday Night Baseball: Indians at Giants

Cleveland Indians at San Francisco Giants (-133)

Another weekend of interleague play winds down when the defending World Series champion San Francisco Giants host the Cleveland Indians under ESPN’s Sunday night spotlight. The Giants, looking for a sweep, are set as favorites of -133.

NO FIRST BASE VIRTUOSO

The Indians have been trying to make things less rigorous for catcher Carlos Santana by putting him at first base on occasion this season. And he’s been out there more often lately, with Matt LaPorta’s sprained ankle putting him on the disabled list a week ago.

But Santana is definitely a work in progress when he’s not behind the plate. In the opener of this three-game series Friday night, Santana had two sixth-inning errors, helping spark a three-run rally by the Giants, who went on to win 4-3.

On the flip side, Santana was the main reason Cleveland was in the game Friday, as he had a pair of hits and two RBIs. In fact, he’s been heating up at the plate, batting .324 with three home runs and seven RBIs over 10 games through Friday.

But it was hard for Indians manager Manny Acta to get past Santana’s effort at first base Friday, with all three of San Fran’s sixth-inning runs being unearned.

“Carlos had a rough day at first base,” Acta told Yahoo Sports.

Cleveland made two more errors, though none by Santana, in Saturday's 1-0 loss.

MAKING DO WITHOUT CHOO

As if losing LaPorta wasn’t enough, Acta now has to find a fill-in for outfielder Shin-Soo Choo.

Choo suffered a broken left thumb, getting hit by a pitch from Giants starter Jonathan Sanchez in the fourth inning Friday night. Choo will join LaPorta on the DL and is expected to miss at least six weeks.

“He means so much for us offensively, defensively, running the bases," Acta said. "He’s an important part of our lineup. It’s a big blow.”

BUMMER FOR BUMGARNER

San Francisco starter Madison Bumgarner has had only one really bad outing all season – his last one – and still has a serviceable ERA of 4.06. But he’s not getting run support and is just 3-9.

The Giants lost Bumgarner’s first six starts of the year and, to be fair, he was a little shaky in a few of those games. And against Minnesota Tuesday, he got absolutely hammered at home by the Twins, making it just 1/3 of an inning while giving up eight runs on nine hits in a 9-2 loss.

But in the nine starts prior to that, he went at least six innings every time, including seven innings four times and 8 2-3 innings once, and allowed no more than three earned runs per outing. Yet the Giants went 4-5 and Bumgarner went 2-5 with a pair of no-decisions.

PLUMMETING PITCHER

Cleveland sends Fausto Carmona (4-9, 5.98 ERA) to the mound and that hasn’t boded well. The right hander is 1-6 in his last seven starts, allowing a whopping 42 runs in that stretch, including 38 earned.

Against Colorado at home Monday, Carmona got tagged for seven runs (all earned) on nine hits and a walk in 4 2-3 innings. During the slide, he has allowed six earned runs or more four times.

NOTEWORTHY NUMBERS

Despite losing the first two by the Bay, the Indians are 8-4 in their last 12 interleague games and 7-2 in interleague play against winning teams. Beyond that, though, the Tribe is on a host of negative streaks, including 2-6 on the highway, 6-24 in interleague roadies, 1-4 in Carmona’s last five road outings and 2-5 in his last seven interleague starts.

The Giants have fallen in Bumgarner’s last four starts at AT&T Park, but they are on upswings of 5-1 at home, 21-7 in interleague home games and 6-1 in interleague play against winning teams.

As far as totals, playing San Francisco on the under has been a wise move. The Giants are on under streaks of 37-16-3 overall, 20-6-1 at home, 28-11-1 at home against righty starters, 10-2-2 in interleague action, 23-11 with Bumgarner taking the ball and 12-5 behind Bumgarner at home.

Sunday's Streaking and Slumping Starting Pitchers

Streaking

Phillip Humber, Chicago White Sox (7-3, 2.90 ERA)

The ChiSox are getting a lift from the right hander. Humber is 4-0 in his last four starts and hasn’t tasted defeat since April 30, going 5-0 in that eight-start span. He’s allowed more than three runs just once in that span and hasn’t given up more than four runs in any of his 13 starts in 2011.

Carl Pavano, Minnesota Twins (5-5, 4.05 ERA)

Pavano is proving there’s still life in that arm of his, even without the power of the majors’ best mustache. The clean-shaven righty is 3-0 with a 1.63 ERA over his last four starts and has only one loss in his previous eight appearances. The veteran hurler is also going deep into starts, pitching into at least the seventh inning in seven straight outings.

Slumping

J.A. Happ, Houston Astros (3-9, 5.33 ERA)

The Astros' southpaw has watched his ERA swell over his last three starts. Happ is 0-2 with a bulky 9.00 ERA in those outings, including giving up five runs on eight hits over just 2 2-3 innings of work against the Rangers on Monday. Happ has pitched past the sixth inning in just one of his last 10 outings.

Fausto Carmona, Cleveland Indians (4-9, 5.98 ERA)

Carmona has just one win in his last nine starts and is coming off a rough outing against the Rockies on Monday. The right hander lasted only 4 2-3 innings before he was yanked, allowing seven runs on nine hits. He’s given up at least four runs in eight straight starts, which is bad news for the Tribe, who are averaging just over three runs per game in June.

Seattle Mariners at Florida Marlins (140, 6.5)

Batters are hitting .230 against Marlins starter Anibal Sanchez, who has allowed three runs over his last two starts covering 14 innings. Sanchez (6-1, 2.90 ERA) struck out 14 and walked four in those outings.

Mariners starter Doug Fister is coming off a sterling eight-inning outing against the Nationals in which he gave up three hits and one run.

These pitchers have combined for a 10-17 over/under mark this season. The Under is 6-1 in umpire Lazaro Diaz’s last seven interleague games behind the plate, and 19-6-1 in his last 27 overall games calling balls and strikes.

Seattle and Florida trot out two of MLB's weakest lineups. They're among a handful of teams yet to score 300 runs.

Pick: Under

Colorado Rockies at New York Yankees (-160, 9)

In the rubber game of this interleague series, the Rockies hand the ball to rookie Juan Nicasio.

He’s been terrible in two road starts, giving up 16 hits and nine earned runs in 10 2/3 innings. Nicasio has been much better in three home starts, but this game will be played at Yankee Stadium.

New York starter Ivan Nova has been brilliant lately. He’s 3-0 with a 3.05 ERA in his last three starts, with 15 hits allowed in 20 2/3 innings.

Both teams have won seven of 10 after Saturday's 8-3 Yankees win.

Some books opened the Yankees at -135 or -140 and bettors jumped on it, pushing up the price. Still, it's worth a play as this matchup favors the home team in a big way.

San Antonio Silver Stars at Atlanta Dream (-3, 164)

After years of running in the middle of the pack, the Silver Stars are making a break for the top spot in the Western Conference.

San Antonio rose to the top in the West with a 90-80 overtime win over the Los Angeles Sparks on Friday, covering as a 2.5-point home favorite. The Silver Stars improved to 5-1 straight up and against the spread.

“I think it starts and ends on the defensive side of things,” center Ruth Riley told the San Antonio Express. “Our ability to get stops is what keeps us in games. Unfortunately, we find ourselves with a big deficit a couple of times, but luckily, our defense has bailed us out.”

San Antonio limited the Sparks to just two points in the extra frame and is allowing 82.2 points per game this season. The Silver Stars forced 17 turnovers and grabbed seven steals in the win over L.A., turning those into easy buckets.

“We had to work for that one, no doubt,” guard Becky Hammon told the media. “They put a lot of pressure on us. We had to do a lot of things right down the stretch.”

San Antonio already owns a win over Atlanta this season, defeating the Dream 86-74 as a 2.5-point home dog. The Silver Stars forced 18 turnovers and tallied eight steals in that victory.

Tulsa Shock at Washington Mystics (-8.5, 156)

If there’s one team playing as bad as the Shock these days, it’s the Mystics.

Since winning its second game of the season, Washington has dropped four straight contest to fall to 1-5 and lugs an identical ATS mark along with it. One of those losses has come at the hands of Tulsa, which took a 77-59 victory as a 4-point home favorite on June 18 – the Shock’s lone win on the year.

"I thought that for 40 minutes we brought the energy," WNBA legend Sheryl Swoopes told the media following that game. "I think that every player on this team refused to lose."

The Shock have gone on to lose both games since that victory, posting a 1-1 ATS mark vs. Seattle and New York. They’ve managed to salvage a 5-3 record against the spread to start the year and should be getting more respect than the 8.5 points oddsmakers are handing them Sunday afternoon.
